We were honoured to be asked to create this pink plaque for Candlelighters, who launched their amazing new Supportive Care Research Centre yesterday, 9th November 2023.
Made to order in colour to match their brand identity, this plaque was created in two days and shipping securely prior to the opening of this much needed support centre.
"A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the very exciting launch of the Candlelighters Supportive Care Research Centre last night at the University of York.
This ground-breaking project has been years in the making and we are so proud to finally embark on this journey that will help save lives, reduce suffering, and bring hope for children with cancer.
The Candlelighters Supportive Care Research Centre will fund research into preventing side effects of treatment, managing pain and reducing infection. Our number one priority is to develop effective, kinder care for young people with cancer, which will give them as full a life as possible.
Our goal is not only to make the process of living with and beyond cancer as a child better, but to save lives - 1 in 3 children who die with cancer die from the side effects of treatment, not the cancer itself.
The research will bring together experts in the field of supportive care and will put families at the forefront, finding out what matters most to them and making the changes most needed. And progress made through the centre won't just benefit children in Yorkshire, but across the world.
